Jane Foreman was born in Bridgetown and finished her schooling in Manjimup, Western Australia.
Jane has always been
involved in the “caring” professions. Having graduated as a registered
nurse in 1981, she moved to the now Durack town of Merredin in 1982
where she worked as the District School Health Nurse for 2 years. She
moved to Geraldton from Bunbury in 1992 to be involved for 9 years with
pastoral care when she and her husband were the full time ministers of
a local church.

She was elected to the Geraldton City
Council in 2003 and finished her term in 2005. She was involved in
setting up Drug-Arm in Geraldton, an organisation that reaches out to
those in drug addiction and which now runs a drug rehabilitation centre
in Geraldton. Until becoming a full-time mother in late 2007, Jane
served on many committees and organizations in Geraldton.
In 2008, Jane ran in the State Election as the Family First candidate for Geraldton and received 6% of the vote.
Jane brings a different but needed
approach to politics, coming from a background that very few dare to
bring to the political arena. She is passionate about FAMILIES and
everything that affects them. From cost of living to employment
opportunities, from adequate medical services for regional WA to
sufficient and affordable housing for every person, from providing
every assistance for small businesses to prosper to making sure
everything that is needed to keep our Regional Communities viable is
provided and everything in between - she knows that she can serve the
Durack Electorate with integrity and diligence. |

She will go in to bat
(and work very hard) in the Federal arena to make sure that the
communities, people and FAMILIES of this vital part of the nation are
not forgotten or neglected.
She currently lives in Geraldton with her family.
