WA Family First

My name is Darren Vernede and I am 42 years old. I have been married for 9 years and we have two children. Currently I am running my own commercial cleaning business.

I have around 14 years experience as a lobbyist on health and social justice issues, having been involved in Youth Health Services as a volunteer in my early 20’s and with the Haemophilia Foundation of WA for many years during the 1990’s.

During this time I was on several committees working and lobbying for better health services for youth and people living with chronic diseases with many successes in gaining better quality health care for all.

I firmly believe that a country or a state can be judged on how it looks after (or not) it’s most disadvantaged in the society and Australia has the capability to look after all its citizens with fairness and compassion, we just have to choose to do so.
